Appreciate Everyday Miracles

As I have posted before, I learn a great deal from jokes.  Here is one of my three favorite learning jokes.  I am not religious but believe in the miracle of positive thinking.  I also believe that when we ask and receive that is an everyday miracle and often as per one of my favorite songs, when we wish and not receive that could also be a miracle because it may turn out that what we wished for was not very good for us!  Here is the joke:

A Joke with Wisdom never to be forgotten

A religious man is on top of a roof during a great flood. A man comes by in a boat and says "get in, get in!" The religious man replies, " no I have faith in God, he will grant me a miracle."
Later the water is up to his waist and another boat comes by and the guy tells him to get in again. He responds that he has faith in god and god will give him a miracle. With the water at about chest high, another boat comes to rescue him, but he turns down the offer again cause "God will grant him a miracle."
With the water at chin high, a helicopter throws down a ladder and they tell him to get in, mumbling with the water in his mouth, he again turns down the request for help for the faith of God. He arrives at the gates of heaven with broken faith and says to Peter, I thought God would grand me a miracle and I have been let down." St. Peter chuckles and responds, "I don't know what you're complaining about, we sent you three boats and a helicopter."

Miracles do not have to be supernatural to be miracles!

Jesus and some of the saints performed some flashy miracles and so I suppose when we think of miracles we often think of something supernatural happening to prove it a miracle.  It is said that God works in mysterious ways and if that is true He would not normally be flashy unless He needed to be for His on purposes.  This joke illustrates His wisdom, even in the deadly sin of the vanity of the man to expect a flashy miracle; He takes him into his bosom anyway and tries to help him.  Every day we encounter things that makes us happy to be alive and gives us joy and behind each moment of joy hides unseen and unsung—a personal miracle!

What personal miracles have you experienced?
What is what you would consider the flashiest miracle in your life?
